No, I had the impression that his patch was still very much in development though looking at it now it seems to have most things sorted out.

No, although the reasons are quite trivial (2005 -> 2006 change etc). I am not sure what Stas is up to these days (if he has abandoned dosemu completely including his sound patch or is just away); you could try emailing him directly.
