David, can you use a sysrq to get a trace? Something like echo w > /proc/sysrq-trigger or even echo t > /proc/sysrq-trigger and provide traces? The one with 't' will be probably huge, so, maybe you could do it with as few tasks running as possible, maybe without a graphical login. Or I would have to test it with my Laptop, to which I'll get access tomorrow.
