Pinnacle PCTV HD 800i troubles

After a variable amount of time recording, the card stops functioning
and starts filling my disk with error messages. It usually starts with

The box is built around a Intel DG45ID board running a recently
updated debian/squeeze, kernel version 2.6.35.5, myth 0.23.1 and has
one other ATSC tuner, a Hauppauge HVR 1250. Following are the dmesg
