But now I'm wondering how other drivers do it, I didn't find any other driver dealing with concurrency between unbinding and the ioctls like this. Also, I see that vivid doesn't even call vb2_queue_release() (is this a bug?). Another note is that video_unregister_device() should be called before vb2_queue_release() to avoid any other ioctls from userspace. Helen
