MAX_RETRY is rather small; you'd get here in little more than 1 ms. Moving
the lens could well take longer, couldn't it?

Please perform the write in a single transaction. Doing this otherwise
could lead to unpredictable behaviour. Adding another I²C transaction will
consume more time as well.

The patch must be against an older kernel version. struct media_entity has
no type field anymore, it's been replaced by function. Could you rebase the
patch on the media tree master branch, please?
