I never used 'smb' so please suggest what are nowadays uses of the file
system to replace the old text.

Personally, I think the text is fine, I don't know why the translator
marked this. You just might use the past form:

used by → which was used by

I'll leave it in present, so that anyone that sees it feels the need to write some more up-to-date uses. :)
