The issue is not just old binaries. You made the same mistake in your 
message to Arnd when you said "we're not allowed to fix that [ABI] because 
someone might run an old binary". For some reason you're choosing to 
ignore numerous objections that have been covered on the mailing lists to 
date.

I have only seen real objections from your side. Everyone else agrees 
that future development of the platform is not feasible without making 
the switch.


I'm interested in what people have to say. I'm not interested in who says 
it. Hence, your concept of "everyone else" is irrelevant to me.
