But with this http://web.zln.cz/~joy/aranym-linux-kernel-2.4.27-12.tar.gz
kernel it can find init and is booting normally from the same image.

Or do you mean that the 2.6 kernel needs something else then was present
in Etch by August 2006 as Petr was creating that image?
