Ah, now you're talking about the specific use case, and I'm talking
about the generic TLV parser. A generic parser does not know how the
value is encoded. But you could encode tags in a way that told the
parser whether the value contains TLV or just a blob, and the parser
could traverse the hierarchy of TLV without tag specific parsers, and
tell you if it's well formed or not (nested TLV sizes matching parent,
etc.). Or you could recursively find tags, without callbacks. Or dump
the structure, without callbacks.
