Ok, I guess it is possible to do this way too.

Not sure I follow, the parser associated to a TLV type knows if it is a
nested TLV. Look at parse_digest_list_entry() in patch 7/14. The field
parser is calling tlv_parse() inside.

The parsers are user-defined and invoked through callbacks, the TLV
parser itself remains the same regardless of how data are structured.

Good point.
