Hi, Roderick discussed the benefits and drawbacks of "[PATCH v2] HID: hid-sony: Brighter RGB values and add 8th color." Message-ID <d379c448-e6b2-f858-bffa-5c3256c8030a@xxxxxxxx> and came to the conclusion that having more than four LED states is undesirable. He pointed out that it would be preferrable for the Sony team to have the Linux kernel driver behave more closely like the original Playstation driver. The PS only allows four gamepads and thus only four LED states. This patch removes the Linux-specific behaviour and undocumented LED patterns and colours. It will still be possible to have the non-Playstation LED patterns on a Linux systems through user space (e.g. this patch doesn't change the behaviour of Debian, where the gamepad enumeration is done in user space through the 'joystick' package). Roderick, please test this with your team. Thanks!
