I have a situation with the HP ProBook 455 G5. I have tried a number of
different kernel versions from different distributions and they all have
exhibited the same issue. When the function keys for brightness up or
brightness down are pressed, they are mapped in userspace under key code
190, otherwise known as F20, which is commonly used for the microphone
mute function key.
Now, normally I would try to workaround such oddities from userspace,
but I do not believe it is possible in this case because the keys aren't
even being mapped to different key codes. I would appreciate it if
someone could share any ideas they may have for what I can try from
here, as I have already exhausted the usual methods for debugging the
source of the issue. Thank you.
