I am using the following flags

  IRQF_DISABLED | IRQF_TRIGGER_LOW | IRQF_TRIGGER_FALLING

Should I get rid of the first one, IRQF_DISABLED?

  IRQF_DISABLED - keep irqs disabled when calling the action handler
