Well, aside from the "Tips for writing a good proposal" section in the project's
page, I would also consider Jonathan's comments on previous proposals [1].

If you are looking for a task list, see kernelnewbies IIO tasks page [2] and
some suggested changes for IIO staging drivers [3].
