Hi Matteo,

Excellent work (particularly the thorough testing!)
 
I'm still a bit nervous about this set and we are late in this kernel
cycle so I'm going to queue them up for the next merge window instead of
racing them in as fixes.  We may in future want to backport to stable, but
let us give them some time to soak before such a request.

So applied to the togreg branch of iio.git and initially pushed out
as testing to let 0-day take a first look.
