I've modified this and changed as below in the interests of saving everyone
time that a V4 and it's review would take!
Thanks for the review Rob.

Applied to the togreg branch of iio.git and pushed out as testing for the
autobuilders to play with it.

I dropped this from the binding as it is generic anyway rather than
device specific.
