Hi, here a PC P4 would detect a SATA drive attached to this bi directionnal IDE-SATA adapter (from Dynamode) at bios time (so the connections are good!) , however carrying on booting linux-4.5.0-1-686-pae, and even forcing module pata_jmicron, no PCI device of the chip is seen...and then the SATA drive is not detected...: if id code 197b is "JMicron Technology Corp.": lspci -d 197b:* returns zit. would anyone have some idea how I could revive this cheap peace of kit, using setpci, maybe? Thanks. here is my IDE interface... 00:1f.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) IDE Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 8a [Master SecP PriP]) Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
