Excellent. As agreed I have applied patch 1 to an immutable branch:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/linusw/linux-pinctrl.git/log/?h=ib-gpio-ppid
If Bartosz needs this patch he can pull it into the GPIO subsystem.

Then I have applied patches 2-4 on top of this branch for v5.16.

I leave patch 5 for Marcan so he can minimize MAINTAINERS
collisions.

Thanks for your hard work on this!

If any issues remains to be addressed they can be done with incremental
patches for sure.
