This patch is unfortunately a bit confusing for me.

- It is named ARM: something but doesn't affect the arch/arm/*
 hierarchy. Just use gpio: xlilinx: ...

- It changes a lot of stuff all over and has a very terse commit
  message which does not seem to have too much to do with the
  changes made.

It looks a bit like something from a corporate tree.

Could you please update it with a proper detailed description of
what the patch does and why?
