The patch titled ext2: don't inherit inappropriate inode flags from parent has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is ext2-dont-inherit-inappropriate-inode-flags-from-parent.patch Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code *** See http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/stuff/added-to-mm.txt to find out what to do about this The current -mm tree may be found at http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/mmotm/ ------------------------------------------------------ Subject: ext2: don't inherit inappropriate inode flags from parent From: "Duane Griffin" <duaneg@xxxxxxxxx> At present BTREE/INDEX is the only flag that new ext2 inodes do NOT inherit from their parent. In addition prevent the flags DIRTY, ECOMPR, INDEX, IMAGIC and TOPDIR from being inherited. List inheritable flags explicitly to prevent future flags from accidentally being inherited. This fixes the TOPDIR flag inheritance bug reported at http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=9866.
