Wayne,

When replying to emails, please ensure that the mailing list is in the CC.  So if anyone else is having the same issue they can join the thread or use this information in the future.  Also please post the reply at the bottom of the email, so that anybody later can read the responses in chronological order from top to bottom.

I would be interested to see the debug output, for the following conditions:
1) scan-dvb vs MythTV scan
2) Tuning channels in gxine Vs MythTV

If we can spot an obvious problem, we can possibly provide the information to the MythTV devs (or I might get adventurous write a patch for them)
