I've the time, but sadly not the expertise to develop the driver ;)

If anyone can advise me how to go about it I will give it a shot. I am an experienced programmer, but am not experienced with linux drivers.
I am more than willing to muck around with it on my machine or even give someone an ssh login if they need it and we can go no further without it.
