Hey, you're right!  Thanks.  The remote is working perfectly on Gentoo
now.  0x6b is also visible in i2cdetect.

If you can't figure out how to reset it, then at least put a comment
in the kernel code mentioning the need to power off.  It might save
someone a lot of effort in the future.
