My comment was only meant as a side note. Did you try "sox"? For uncompensated audio clocks it usually works better. I'm far away from any playstation stuff. AFAIK, it has noninterlaced output on the RF connector, are you on that one? What about the s-video and composite outputs and audio directly connected to the sound card input?
