Kevin,
I use the same atsc card without any problems. You have either a corrupt zip 
file, or the program md5sum (used by the script extract.sh) is not 
installed on your system (which is highly unlikely, but with Ubuntu, you 
never know).

If all else fails, I can email you the extracted firmware if you like.
