Hi, I'm trying to set up MythTv on top of Fedora 7 and using Nova-T 500. Everything works normal up to channel scan and mythtv start. This is what dmesg returns about the card: [root@media mythtv]# dmesg | grep dvb dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in cold state, will try to load a firmware dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-dib0700-1.10.fw' dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in warm state. dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer. dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer. dvb-usb: schedule remote query interval to 150 msecs. dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T successfully initialized and connected. usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dib0700 [root@media mythtv]# dmesg | grep DVB dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in cold state, will try to load a firmware dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T 500 Dual DVB-T' in warm state. Remote works fine too. Scandvb (from dvb-apps) using the file below returns a long list of stations on the format: (One long line per station - linebreaks are mine) TV4 Varmland:674000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ :FEC_3_4:FEC_1_2:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD _INTERVAL_1_4: HIERARCHY_NONE:1049:1048:6140 ztv.se:642000000:INVERSION_AUTO:BANDWIDTH_8_MHZ: FEC_1_2:FEC_AUTO:QAM_64:TRANSMISSION_MODE_8K:GUARD _INTERVAL_1_4: HIERARCHY_NONE:1199:1198:1190 I picked these because I get lock on the second one but not on the first. This is the file that scandvb uses: # Sweden - Karlstad/Sormon # T freq bw fec_hi fec_lo mod transmission-mode guard-interval hierarchy # Channels 43 46 30 42 T 546000000 8MHz 1/2 NONE QAM64 8k 1/4 NONE T 642000000 8MHz 1/2 NONE QAM64 8k 1/4 NONE T 650000000 8MHz 1/2 NONE QAM64 8k 1/8 NONE T 674000000 8MHz 1/2 NONE QAM64 8k 1/8 NONE Tzap (also from dvb-apps) for TV4 Varmland above returns this: using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' tuning to 674000000 Hz video pid 0x04af, audio pid 0x04ae status 00 | signal 4480 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | status 00 | signal 43b4 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | status 00 | signal 44a9 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | status 00 | signal 4470 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | The same for ztv.se returns: [root@media mythtv]# tzap ztv.se using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' tuning to 642000000 Hz video pid 0x04af, audio pid 0x04ae status 03 | signal 4476 | snr 0000 | ber 001fffff | unc 00000000 | status 1f | signal 43b3 | snr 0000 | ber 00003620 | unc 000003f0 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal 4430 | snr 0000 | ber 00000210 | unc 00000176 | FE_HAS_LOCK dvbsnoop gives lots of data for the "good" one and nothing for the "bad".
