You'll need a DVB-S2 card for HDTV/H.264 broadcast material when it
becomes available (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVB-S2 for more
information.).

I picked up a Hauppauge Nova-S Plus for testing and recording of
free-to-air (FTA) available DVB-S material as the card is well
supported. The newer DVB-S2 API is still a work in progress, although
some cards may work well with the latest V4L/kernel (see
http://linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S2_Devices ). I'm holding off
getting a DVB-S2 card until things are more stable and more FTA
material is available to make it worthwhile.
