DVB-S (USB/powerpc) purchasing advice

I'm looking to buy a DVB-S receiver to try alongside my working DVB-T
setup (a Hauppage Nova-T USB2).

Ideally I'd like a USB2 device with a driver that works on powerpc and
somewhere selling 'em in the UK for <$100 :-) but I'm not sure how
realistic that is. I see quite a few of these on eBay:

But there's no brand, chipset, anything to go on so I'm wary. Is anyone
out there using a DVB-S USB device under Linux reliably? I can see the
WinTV Nova-S USB but I assume the hardware could be little relation to
the reliable DVB-T box I'm using at the moment. If it's not really
viable I have another x86 box where a regular PCI card could live, where
I assume there is more choice.

Any pointers would be appreciated from someone who knew the kernel
driver support better than me, or simply has a working setup.
