I saw one of these in Maplin (UK) with a catalogue writeup that looked as if it might be a clone of the Freecom DVB-T pen that I have been using for several months. Cost was GBP 19.99 'was 49.99'! I find that it isn't, and I don't want to spend time trying to get it to work, so I shall take it back. Here's a section of the system log when I unplugged the Freecom, plugged in and then unplugged the MobiDTV Pro, and plugged in the Freecom again. I had the af9005.fw file in /lib/firmware, but the response was IIRC just the same without it. Net searches suggested that this is needed for a version without the 'Pro' label. I'm running 2.6.20-1.2316.fc5.i686. I haven't tried it under XP. The packaging says: Tuner: Microtune tuner USB IC: Afa (9015 chip) Demodulator: Afa COFDM Jun 6 10:04:51 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: USB disconnect, address 3 ## unplug Freecom, insert MobiDTV Pro Jun 6 10:05:03 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5 Jun 6 10:05:03 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jun 6 10:05:03 localhost kernel: input: Afatech MobiDTV Pro as /class/input/input8 Jun 6 10:05:03 localhost kernel: input: USB HID v1.01 Keyboard [Afatech MobiDTV Pro] on usb-0000:00:03.3-4 Jun 6 10:06:54 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: USB disconnect, address 5 #### Unplug MobiDTV Pro, reinsert Freecom into same USB cable end Jun 6 10:07:35 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 6 Jun 6 10:07:35 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jun 6 10:07:35 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'WideView WT-220U PenType Receiver (Typhoon/Freecom)' in cold state, will try to load a firmware Jun 6 10:07:35 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: downloading firmware from file 'dvb-usb-wt220u-fc03.fw' Jun 6 10:07:35 localhost kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dtt200u Jun 6 10:07:36 localhost kernel: usb 4-4: USB disconnect, address 6 Jun 6 10:07:36 localhost kernel: dvb-usb: generic DVB-USB module successfully deinitialized and disconnected.
