With Helmut's help I've prepared a new patch which solved all
tuning problems for him.
Basically the same as the previous patch, except for:
- TDA8262: set baseband gain to 9db (maximum value)
- TDA10086: toggle register 0x02 between 0x35 (tuning) and 0x00 (locked)
- STR and SNR values are inverted now.
Helmut already confirmed that it works for him.
@all TT-budget S-1401 & Pinnacle 400e DVB-S users:
Please test the attached patch.
If nobody objects I'll commit this patch on Thursday.

I have 2 1400's, and stopped using them as i had consistent problems
switching between two satellites. My suspicion was (and is) not-
trustworthy diseqc implementation. Any reason to test?
Well, it's up to you, whether you'd like to contribute or not. ;-)
Afaik DiSEqC has been fixed here:

Oliver
As always, there is a balance between (available) time and
(perceived) need. As i have rather limited time (too much on my todo list
anyway), i try to optimize what i am doing.
As i am away from home for 3 or 4 days a week for work, this rather limits
available time.
So in general i am willing to test patches, provided:
1 - i have the HW available to do so
2 - its a patch against the current kernel, or against a rc release.
and sub 1 could actually read: HW availabe and installed. For the 1400
the 'installed' part is no longer true. I replaced them with cards that
function on diseqc. Obviously, i still have them lying around.
hg is not really an option for me:
1 - i've never worked with it
2 - i do take a look at how much i gain (time/need balance) and it seems
hg would be solely for v4l-dvb and with a complicated setup (as far as i
can see so far)
3 - most devices in hg i do not own.
So yes, i am willing to contribute, but: i do not have time to learn and
be a developer. Nor the wish to be so. I'll test when i can do so without
spending days to build a test environment.
Cheers,
Rudy
