I also just bought one of these and am having similar problems.

Running on FC6 2.6.20 kernel

Detection:
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T Stick' in warm state.
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2 transport stream to the software demuxer.
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge Nova-T Stick)
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: **WARNING** I2C adapter driver [DiBX000 tuner I2C bus] forgot to specify physical device; fix it!
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: DVB: registering frontend 0 (DiBcom 7000PC)...
May 13 20:02:16 toshiba kernel: MT2060: successfully identified (IF1 = 1220)
May 13 20:02:17 toshiba kernel: dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T Stick successfully initialized and connected.
May 13 20:02:17 toshiba kernel: usbcore: registered new interface driver dvb_usb_dib0700

tzap -r "Film4:
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
tuning to 537833330 Hz
video pid 0x02bd, audio pid 0x02be
status 10 | signal ff57 | snr 0000 | ber 46024602 | unc 00007ea3 | FE_HAS_LOCK

But as soon as I have run tzap I get the following errors repeated in the logs:
May 13 20:08:38 toshiba kernel: mt2060 I2C read failed
May 13 20:09:09 toshiba last message repeated 227 times

I tried getting the latest dvb modules:
hg clone http://linuxtv.org/hg/v4l-dvb
cd v4l-dvb
make
make instal
....
....
Installing /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2948.fc6/kernel/drivers/media/video/ovcamchip files:
ovcamchip.ko

Installing /lib/modules/2.6.20-1.2948.fc6/kernel/drivers/media/video/zc0301 files:
zc0301.ko
/sbin/depmod -a 2.6.20-1.2948.fc6
make[1]: Leaving directory `/tmp/v4l-dvb/v4l'

But still no difference, has anyone got a solution?
