Basically, because Hartmut and Andrew did not commit it... ;-) The DiSEqC patch was committed by Mauro. AFAICS the latest patch was posted in message http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-January/015251.html After reading all messages in this thread it is not clear to me whether the patch improves things or not. http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-January/015360.html indicates a problem with some transponders. Unfortunately I neither have the datasheets nor the hardware to play with. I can't tell whether it makes sense or not. Furthermore the patch might also break an USB device which uses the same tuner (dvb-usb driver - Pinnacle 400e DVB-S)... We need more testing! @all TDA10086/TDA826x users: ---------------------------- Please test the patch posted in http://linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2007-January/015251.html and report success or problems. > Sorry for posting again :) > With this patch it sometimes takes a long time til a channels is tuned. > In 99 Percent its really fast but espacially when zapping to channel > "Das Erste": > Das Erste;ARD:11836:hC34:S19.2E:27500: > it can happen that it takes a minute until I see a picture. > Maybe there is some zigzagging necessary when tuning ? > If yes where do I have to look at ? Zigzag scan is enabled for all DVB-S cards. Does it only happen if you switch from _vertical_ to _horizontal_ polarisation, or is it not related to polarisation switching?
