Technotrend budget S-1500 (DVB-S) on Fedora core 5

This is my first post on this list, so hopefully I have the right list? If not i’m sure I will be told ;o)

I am trying to get my TechnoTrend ‘Budget S-1500’ (SAA7146) with CI daughter board working. I have programmed the trex with predator and everything (FTA and encrypted) works fine in windows XP, my intention is to use the card on a Fedora Core 5 machine as part of a MythTV set up. In FC5 I can watch FTA channels using Kaffeine and Xine (not tried Myth yet), but the encrypted channels fail to display anything.

I am running kernel-2.6.20-1.2312.fc5, the pertinent DMESG output is -

saa7146: register extension 'budget_ci dvb'.
ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [APC1] enabled at IRQ 16
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:06.0[A] -> Link [APC1] -> GSI 16 (level, low) -> IRQ 20
saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem dca08000 (revision 1, irq 20) (0x13c2,0x1017).
saa7146 (0): dma buffer size 192512
DVB: registering new adapter (TT-Budget/S-1500 PCI).
saa7146: register extension 'budget dvb'.
adapter has MAC addr = 00:d0:5c:07:e4:01
input: Budget-CI dvb ir receiver saa7146 (0) as /class/input/input4
budget_ci: CI interface initialised
hdb: ATAPI 48X DVD-ROM drive, 512kB Cache, UDMA(33)
Uniform CD-ROM driver Revision: 3.20
dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully
DVB: registering frontend 0 (ST STV0299 DVB-S)...

To me it appears that the CI/CAM are initialising perfectly, but still unable to view anything except FTA.
Any ideas appreciated!
