I don't know how to settle this easy, but I'm not against people developing drivers under NDAs for getting some income and can understand that it is not convenient after lots of work to have the v4l maintainer suddenly around.
Are you okay, in all senses ? So, are you making payments to the people who are working on the drivers ? If you meant myself, i do work on all these drivers in my private free time. So, i am reiterating what you said earlier, "before stating anything try to understand what is correct."
On the other hand the maintainer is _forced_ by all others to collect as much information, datasheets, contacts as possible, else he would be asked "what, you did not even try?". Guess the best is still to try to talk with each other.
