Oh my, there is really a problem.

How can you compare a 60K diff of different mantis drivers around,
posted out of list cause of its size, with some old IRC quotes with so

So you really are in a better state to understand the state of the
mantis driver than the author himself ? (In fact, the hardware vendor
themslves use the same driver provided by the same OSS mantis driver
author) So your statement is that the author of the module doesn't
know what he is doing nor which of his tree is the latest one. Quite
strange indeed, i don't know how many people will agree with you.

BTW: where are those "different mantis" drivers ?
BTW2: i just have one tarball for the mantis driver

Analyze yourself, with the statements what you made earlier. OT
question, why are such much interested/jumpy in a driver that is under
development which is no way related to you ... ?

If you had such a piece of hardware at least, i could understand that,
but people who have the hardware are yet to make statements/claims
that which you made. Anyway don't understand why you had to take the
herculean task of comparing 60k diffs.

Very hard to understand you. As i said on the ML. the latest tree is
there as a tarball on kromtek.com (Someone told me on a private note
to ignore such stupid remarks)

many f*, a* and others that it will never pass the filters and I got
sick of it after it had good arguments in the beginning?

Much better than not to talk at all.

Exactly.

I don't know how to settle this easy, but I'm not against people
developing drivers under NDAs for getting some income and can understand
that it is not convenient after lots of work to have the v4l maintainer
suddenly around.

Are you okay, in all senses ?

So, are you making payments to the people who are working on the
drivers ? If you meant myself, i do work on all these drivers in my
private free time.

So, i am reiterating what you said earlier, "before stating anything
try to understand what is correct."

On the other hand the maintainer is _forced_ by all others to collect as
much information, datasheets, contacts as possible, else he would be
asked "what, you did not even try?".

Guess the best is still to try to talk with each other.

Looking at the mud you are slinging, looks like better to add one
more to the ignore list.

Manu
