How do you know CAM is recognized ?

Hello,

My Technotrend C-2300 (Hauppauge Nexus CA v 2.3) card has an external 3.5" module, but it does not seem to work. How can I verify whether : 1) the CAM (an Alphacrypt) is recognized - I would like to know which version of the CAM I have
2) the smartcard inserted in the CAM is working

For the moment, I can only watch free-to-air channels, but every 48 seconds my screen freezes. When I disconnect the CI module, the interruptions disappear.

Some facts :
- uname -a
Linux albert 2.6.19-gentoo-r5 #1 SMP PREEMPT Sun Feb 4 18:11:33 CET 2007 i686

- firmware
http://www.linuxtv.org/downloads/firmware/dvb-ttpci-01.fw-2622

- I have the latest drivers from Mercurial, the output when I do modprobe dvb_ttpci :

- I have tried :
* gnutv
* gnutv -cammenu - seems to hang
* xine with dvb support
* vdr with PrimaryDVB = 2 and softdevice plugin
* MythTV
but none of these even mention a CAM...

Does anyone have an idea how I could test my configuration ? Do I need to load a driver for the CI module ? How can I know which part of the chain driver-ci-cam-smartcard is malfunctioning ?

Thanks for your suggestions !

Kristof
