Hallo all! I made myself a present and bought the HVR-3000 and I wanted to make a MythTV box. So I installed ubuntu edgy, and then installed the kernel-package to get all build utilitys for the kernel. Then I downloaded Steves drivers for the card from http://linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/hvr3000 (thank you really Steve for those drivers, I owe you a beer if we meet sometime). I compiled them but I got an error: CC [M] /home/s2/Desktop/hvr3000-71bc28bf7765/v4l/aci.o /home/s2/Desktop/hvr3000-71bc28bf7765/v4l/aci.c:68:26: error: sound_config.h: No such file or directory /home/s2/Desktop/hvr3000-71bc28bf7765/v4l/aci.c: In function 'aci_mixer_ioctl': I didn't know where to get that sound_config.h so i did: root@back:/home/s2/Desktop/hvr3000-71bc28bf7765/v4l# make menuconfig but I got an error: scripts/kconfig/lxdialog/dialog.h:31:20: error: curses.h: No such file or directory that was an easy fix: apt-get install libncurses5-dev libncurses5 after that the make menuconfig worked and I disabled the ACI mixer (Audio devices for multimedia) That done the driver compiled cleanly with make, so I installed it with make install and rebooted (at this point I was all sweaty and excited). The box came back up and I installed dvb-utils, dvbtune and some other dvb related packages to try the dvb-s and dvb-t tuners out. then I followed this guide http://parker1.co.uk/mythtv_ubuntu.php because I am really new to all this stuff, and didn't even know from where to begin. so after i did scan /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/it-Bolzano > /root/.tzap/channels.conf i got using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' main:2247: FATAL: failed to open '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0': 2 No such file or directory where is frontend0? did the compiled module create it on load? in my syslog i get: => /var/log/syslog <== Nov 23 13:17:36 back kernel: [17180453.848000] cx8802_probe() allocating 2 frontends so I guess the modules are working? Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance for any pointers. _______________________________________________ linux-dvb mailing list linux-dvb@xxxxxxxxxxx http://www.linuxtv.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/linux-dvb
