Hi, Welcome! :)

Thanks :-)

try this:
http://www.linuxtv.org/hg/~stoth/hvr3000

I'd actually already had a bit of a go with that - and I've just had another go, but it seems no better.

I have the same problems in that

1) I get no picture at all if boot straight into linux. If I boot into Windows first then reboot (no power off) into linux I get the picture from channel that was last tuned in windows, but no sound (just static noise)

2) I can't actually change channels under linux at all (I'm sure I could before but maybe I was dreaming...)

I'm just doing all this with normal analog tv plugged into the ariel socket on the back of the card.

I've removed my older Hauppauge card as I thought maybe having both in the machine might be casuing some confusion, but it hasn't helped :-(

Output from lsmod and dmesg below when using the hvr3000 drivers downloaded from your link.

Good Luck!

I think I'm going to need it! What can I try next? Gut instinct tells me that it is something to do with the tuner not working correctly (hmm, that sounds stupidly obvious now I've put it down in writing).

Parts of dmesg that stick out to me are :

TV tuner 63 at 0x1fe, Radio tuner -1 at 0x1fe

- My card has a radio tuner - could this be causing a problem? I'm guessing not really.

	cx88[0]: irq aud [0x1001] dn_risci1* dn_sync*

- This looks quite worrying (!) I'm guessing this is maybe why audio isn't working? But I have no idea what it means...

And when I load cx88_dvb I noticed :

	DVB: registering frontend 0 (Conexant CX22702 DVB-T)...
DVB: registering frontend 0 (Conexant CX24123/CX24109)...

- maybe I just don't understand the message, but I'm guessing the first one is the DVB-T tuner and the second is the DVB-S, but when are they both "frontend 0" ?

Anyway, hope all this gives you some ideas what else I can try to get this card working. My goal at the minute is to get analog TV working. (I thought that would be the easy part ;-) )

Thanks for your help,

Robert.
