OK. It might be hidden: when a firmare download takes place the device re-enumerates (disconnect and reconnect). When it re-enumerates with the same USB IDs usbsnoop will restart the log-file from the beginning and deletes the firmware download. Sometimes you can see a difference, by looking with lsusb -v before and after downloading the firmware (or usbview on Windows).
