maybe udev or devfs isn't set up correctly?

mkdir -p dev/dvb/adapter0/

mknod -m 660 /dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0 c 212 4
mknod -m 660 /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 c 212 5

I tried that:
root@htpc-linux:/home/mythtv# ls -lh /dev/dvb/adapter0/
total 0
crw-rw---- 1 root root 212, 4 2006-08-27 21:31 demux0
crw-rw---- 1 root root 212, 5 2006-08-27 21:31 dvr0
crw-rw---- 1 root root 212, 3 2006-08-27 21:30 frontend0

...but I still get:

root@htpc-linux:/home/mythtv#  scan
/usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace >
/root/.tzap/channels.conf
scanning /usr/share/doc/dvb-utils/examples/scan/dvb-t/uk-CrystalPalace
using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0'
main:1884: FATAL: failed to open '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0': 19 No
such device

Thanks for your help,

Tom
