Hi Ed, Sorry I didn't reply sooner, I don't know if you can 'deinstall' v4l-dvb? I just setup using a clean installation of Suse 10.1 boxed dvd autoupdated everything using a mirror here in australia did all the things I told you in the last email and got the drivers workingCheck the attached zip file for my lspci and dmesg output. I still cant scan anything and because my board is one of the newer chipset DVICO's I have given all my information to Chris Pascoe.
Command I used for dmesg; dmesg | grep -i dvb Sorry I couldn't help you any further. Regards, Brett Ed wrote:
Hi Brett, thanks for the step by step explanation. It almost worked. I installed the kernel source twice (when I rebooted after the fist attempt, I had along list of error messages, and no USB. On second attempt the PC took 1/2 hour). With "make" and "make install" v4l-dvb stuff was loaded, but there is no /dev/dvb file or v4l-dvb file to be found. Is there a way to deinstall v4l-dvb and start again? Regards Eddie
