Hi, I have the following pieces of DVB-hardware: KNC1 DVB-C pci card KNC1 Cineview CI-adapter Alphacrypt CAM This combo should allow me to watch dutch cable digital tv. However I don't seem to get things working. I have succesfully installed the drivers and all things get recognized ok. I'm trying new drivers from linuxtv repository v4l-dvb-e0deca5f15a1 The log shows this: Linux video capture interface: v2.00 saa7146: register extension 'budget_av'. ACPI: PCI Interrupt Link [APC4] enabled at IRQ 19 ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:01:07.0[A] -> Link [APC4] -> GSI 19 (level, high) -> IRQ 19 saa7146: found saa7146 @ mem fa1ae000 (revision 1, irq 19) (0x1894,0x0020). saa7146 (0): dma buffer size 192512 DVB: registering new adapter (KNC1 DVB-C). adapter failed MAC signature check encoded MAC from EEPROM was ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff KNC1-0: MAC addr = 00:09:d6:6d:50:39 DVB: registering frontend 0 (Philips TDA10021 DVB-C)... budget-av: ci interface initialised. budget-av: cam inserted A dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully I have succesfully scanned for channels using dvbscan (had to leave out the cam for this, otherwise it wouldn't work) and with czap I can tune to a channel. Entry for channel I use for testing is: Nederland 1:388000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64:5410:5411:8004 Tuning to a channel gives the following result: czap -r "Nederland 1" using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' 80 Nederland 1:388000000:INVERSION_AUTO:6875000:FEC_NONE:QAM_64:5410:5411:8004 80 Nederland 1: f 388000000, s 6875000, i 2, fec 0, qam 3, v 0x1522, a 0x1523 status 03 | signal 7e7e | snr f3f3 | ber 00195000 | unc ffffffff | status 1f | signal 7e7e | snr f3f3 | ber 00195000 | unc 00000021 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal 7e7e | snr f4f4 | ber 00195000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal 7e7e | snr f4f4 | ber 00195000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal 7e7e | snr f3f3 | ber 00195000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK However if I try to get a stream with dvbstream I get an empty file: dvbstream 5410 5411 -o > Ned1.mpeg I have tried Windows to check if hardware is ok and I got a working picture there, so it should not be a hardware problem. Also when leaving out the cam and then doing the above I do get a non-empty file. But since all channels are encrypted by my cable company I can't check if this file is valid mpeg. Am I doing something wrong or is the combo I use not possible (yet)? I'm very much willing to help on testing and/or debugging this.
