Hi,
Someone else on this list reported the same problem as me, but with no answer :-( When I plug in my stick, the driver should load, but nothing happens apart from the USB event in /var/log/messages lsusb -v reports: Bus 001 Device 008: ID 2040:7050 Hauppauge Device Descriptor: bLength 18 bDescriptorType 1 bcdUSB 2.00 bDeviceClass 0 (Defined at Interface level) bDeviceSubClass 0 bDeviceProtocol 0 bMaxPacketSize0 64 idVendor 0x2040 Hauppauge idProduct 0x7050 bcdDevice 5.98 iManufacturer 1 Hauppauge iProduct 2 Nova-T Stick iSerial 3 0000000000 bNumConfigurations 1 The driver is loaded: lsmod | grep dvb dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 5764 0 dvb_usb_dibusb_common 6532 1 dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2 dib3000mc 13184 1 dvb_usb_dibusb_common dvb_usb 15496 2 dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2,dvb_usb_dibusb_common dvb_core 67624 1 dvb_usb dvb_pll 12292 2 dvb_usb_dibusb_common,dvb_usb firmware_class 8320 5 dvb_usb,pcmcia,bcm203x,bfusb,ipw2100 usbcore 101636 8 dvb_usb_nova_t_usb2,dvb_usb,uhci_hcd,ehci_hcd,bcm203x,bfusb,hci_usb hotplug reports: usb.agent[19186]: ... no modules for USB product 2040/7050/598 So what's happening? There's no device in /dev/dvb/... and there's no sign of any firmware even trying to load. Zilch.. I look in /usr/src/linux/drivers/media/dvb/dvb-usb/dvb-usb-ids.h and I see: #define USB_PID_WINTV_NOVA_T_USB2_COLD 0x9300 #define USB_PID_WINTV_NOVA_T_USB2_WARM 0x9301 This should be my device, but the IDs don't match! The vendor ID (Hauppauge) matches, but my device ID seems to be different. I don't know much about what this means, so can anyone shed any light on what could be happening? I've looked everyone and asking is my last hope. Thanks, Mark |
