Re: PCMCIA CAM/CI inserted into computer's PCMCIA slot

So my original question should be "is it possible to write software that." Well, using a PCMCIA CAM in a PCMCIA slot in a notebook seemed so natural and obvious to me that I never contemplated that this may not even be possible.

However, voltage negotiation should work if the CAM is fully compliant and the host supports it. A compliant CAM should look as Memory-Only device when inserted into a host slot.

Hello,

Is there software (library) that would allow an application to use services
provided by a PCMCIA CAM/CI inserted into computer's PCMCIA slot?
As far as I know this is not possible due to CAM wiring being different
from PCMCIA. At least I get "voltage negotiation failed" when inserting
a a cam into my pcmcia slot.
