Not quite. The tuning information you pass may speed up the front-end lock.
E.g. the Zarlink documentation says the MT352 will lock faster if you
program it with the correct TPS parameters.

So if you have to pass an incorrect hierarchy value to select the stream,
you may end up slowing down the tuning with it - not desirable.

You need a means to select the stream which does not prevent passing 100%
accurate TPS parameters to the driver.
