All, I have a Hauppauge DVB-s Nova CI that I have just put into my new Xeon em64t server (Gentoo 2.6.14-r1) and am getting a GPF. I have been using this card on my P4 2.8 for several months without a problem. Both kernels are SMP to support hyperthreading but the Xeon is 64-bit. I saw that someone else had a similar problem on an amd64 (http://www.linuxtv.org/pipermail/linux-dvb/2005-September/005070.html). This is what I get in dmesg: tda1004x: found firmware revision 0 -- invalid tda1004x: waiting for firmware upload (dvb-fe-tda10045.fw)... tda1004x: firmware upload complete tda1004x: found firmware revision 2c -- ok dvb_ca adapter 0: DVB CAM detected and initialised successfully general protection fault: 0000 [1] SMP CPU 1 Modules linked in: Pid: 6282, comm: mythbackend Not tainted 2.6.14-gentoo-r1 #3 RIP: 0010:[<ffffffff80430544>] <ffffffff80430544>{_spin_lock_irqsave+9} RSP: 0018:ffff810037cd3e98 EFLAGS: 00010092 RAX: f000a871f000a743 RBX: f000a871f000a75b RCX: 0000000000000001 RDX: 0000000000000000 RSI: ffffc20010301005 RDI: f000a871f000a75f RBP: f000a871f000a75f R08: 0000000000000000 R09: 0000000000000000 R10: 0000000000000003 R11: 0000000000000000 R12: ffff81003a184ac0 R13: 0000000000000001 R14: ffff81003e711a60 R15: 0000000000000001 FS: 0000000042003960(0063) GS:ffffffff8062d880(0000) knlGS:0000000000000000 CS: 0010 DS: 0000 ES: 0000 CR0: 000000008005003b CR2: 00000000007fc070 CR3: 0000000038e9c000 CR4: 00000000000006e0 Process mythbackend (pid: 6282, threadinfo ffff810037cd2000, task ffff81003e6fc480) Stack: 0000000000000292 ffffffff8025ce47 ffff810000000000 0000000000000000 ffff81003a184ac0 ffffffff8031301c 0000000000000000 0000000000000145 ffff81003a184ac0 ffff81003e711a6c Call Trace:<ffffffff8025ce47>{__up_read+33} <ffffffff8031301c>{dvb_ca_en50221_io_poll+194} <ffffffff8018ca2c>{sys_poll+505} <ffffffff8018bec1>{__pollwait+0} <ffffffff8010daf6>{system_call+126} Code: f0 fe 0f 0f 88 d0 01 00 00 48 8b 04 24 48 83 c4 08 c3 c6 07 RIP <ffffffff80430544>{_spin_lock_irqsave+9} RSP <ffff810037cd3e98> ipt_owner: pid, sid and command matching not supported anymore So, anybody have any ideas?
