Scanning just the current transponder has its uses and a manual merge - regardless of format - is possible; this is usually easier if the output is already in the right format. (It will be anyway if -o is specified *after* -c, but when I hit this problem, it was when I appended -c because I'd forgotten it and vdr was running.)
