And I think I could agree you with your assumption that it is not your antenna :). I think if you try to tune a channel you would get plenty of mt352 errors in your dmsg. I also use the Pinnacle 300i with linux and I als had some Problems. The first Problem is that your v4l Version is to old. As you can see in the dmsg-output your v4l-version is 0.2.12 but you need at least 0.2.13. Just download a newer version (for example this one: http://www.linuxtv.org/downloads/video4linux/video4linux-20050627.tar.gz ) If you want to use a newer snapshot than the 20050715-version please keep in mind that you also have to install the frontends, because they are not included anymore. Just install the new modules and try to tune again. If it does not fix the problem you should check if the a directory /dev/dvb/adapter0 exists.
