Hi All, Just had a frustrating time with firmware loading on a newly upgraded Gentoo 2005.0 box running a generic 2.6.11.11 kernel with the latest CVS dvb-kernel. Turns out that the hotplug firmware agent responsible for loading firmware has changed the preferred location for firmware images. It's no longer /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware but /lib/firmware. In fact it can be any arbitrary path as chosen by the distribution creator. /etc/hotplug/firmware.agent has a variable which defines the path to use when loading firmware: # directory of the firmware files FIRMWARE_DIR=/lib/firmware Most recent distros seem to be using this, Fedora Core 3 and Gentoo 2005.0 to name but two. Just thought the dvb-kernel documentation might like to incorporate this change...
