Hello, All I've got a problem with setting up a new Skystar2 card under Linux kernel 2.4.x (but it works in a Windows box). Already tried my default 2.4.20-8 (RH9) and a new 2.4.31, but the symptoms are the same. I tried a few drivers, but they all didn't work (last 2.4 driver from linuxtv.org CVS, linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1, linuxtv-dvb-1.1.1a by Nuclearcat, daily snapshot from linux-dvb.tv and probably a few others). [root@extravert bin]# insmod ./dvb-core.o dvb_shutdown_timeout=0 [root@extravert bin]# insmod ./stv0299.o [root@extravert bin]# insmod ./skystar2.o Each time I get something like this in dmesg: skystar2.c: FlexCopIIB(rev.195) chip found skystar2.c: the chip has 38 hardware filters DVB: registering new adapter (Technisat SkyStar2 driver). probe_tuner: try to attach to Technisat SkyStar2 driver stv0299.c: setup for tuner Samsung TBMU24112IMB DVB: registering frontend 0:0 (STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based)... Then I try to zap to my SAT provider: [root@extravert bin]# ./szap -n 1 -x reading channels from file '/root/.szap/channels.conf' zapping to 1 'PlanetSky': sat 0, frequency = 10991 MHz H, symbolrate 21082000, vpid = 0x0202, apid = 0x0202 using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' status 03 | signal de23 | snr 9b40 | ber 00001f26 | unc 00000000 | status 1f | signal dbcc | snr d77f | ber 0000001c | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK So I gain signal lock... If I run femon, it shows that the signal is still locked: [root@extravert bin]# ./femon using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' FE: STV0299/TSA5059/SL1935 based (SAT) status 1f | signal dc88 | snr d96b | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal de0d | snr da8e | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal ddec | snr d9d7 | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK status 1f | signal de35 | snr da7c | ber 00000000 | unc 00000000 | FE_HAS_LOCK But I cannot scan anything - I only get PID timeouts: [root@extravert bin]# ./scan -c using '/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0011 WARNING: filter timeout pid 0x0000 dumping lists (0 services) Done. I tried dvbsnoop and dvbtune, but they also cannot find anything except for the signal (no pids, no packets, no streams...). If I run dvbnet, it creates an interface in the kernel: [root@extravert bin]#./dvbnet -p 514 ... Device: /dev/dvb/adapter0/net0 Status: device dvb0_0 for pid 514 created successfully. Then I bring up the interface: ifconfig dvb0_0 10.10.10.10 hw ether 00:D0:D7:0A:49:F3 But tcpdump shows me no output :-( while femon shows that we're still tuned and gain signal. dmesg shows lots of output: dvb_net_feed_start: rx_mode 0 dvb_net_feed_start: alloc secfeed dvb_net_feed_start: set secfilter dvb0_0: filter mac=00 00 00 00 00 00 dvb0_0: filter mask=ff ff ff ff ff ff dvb_net_feed_start: start filtering dvb_net_feed_stop dvb_net_feed_stop: stop secfeed dvb_net_feed_stop: release secfilter dvb0_0: set_mc_list, 1 entries dvb_net_feed_start: rx_mode 1 dvb_net_feed_start: alloc secfeed dvb_net_feed_start: set secfilter dvb0_0: filter mac=00 00 00 00 00 00 dvb0_0: filter mask=ff ff ff ff ff ff dvb_net_feed_start: set multi_secfilter[0] dvb0_0: filter mac=01 00 5e 00 00 01 dvb0_0: filter mask=ff ff ff ff ff ff dvb_net_feed_start: start filtering dvb_net_feed_stop dvb_net_feed_stop: stop secfeed dvb_net_feed_stop: release secfilter dvb_net_feed_stop: release multi_filter[0] dvb_net_feed_start: rx_mode 1 dvb_net_feed_start: alloc secfeed dvb_net_feed_start: set secfilter dvb0_0: filter mac=00 d0 d7 0a 49 f3 dvb0_0: filter mask=ff ff ff ff ff ff dvb_net_feed_start: set multi_secfilter[0] dvb0_0: filter mac=01 00 5e 00 00 01 dvb0_0: filter mask=ff ff ff ff ff ff dvb_net_feed_start: start filtering I despair deeply, because it works in a Windows box with the same dish and cable. And I cannot use 2.6 kernels (even if they'd help) :-( Can anyone help me? Thanks. -- Yuriy Ostapenko [duzk mail ru]
