:) he wrote that he will open the source if enough people show  
interest and contact him by mail -- so feel free to bug him!

For the meantime it's probably a nice challenge for most of us to  
follow the approach and write a bitmap generator... maybe it's even  
one day possible to do the modulation in realtime, in some cases it  
might be possible to let the GPU do some work...

In any case the approach to use the video DAC for direct HF  
conversion is very interesting. It would be nice if somebody spends  
some time to do further research in this direction.

Combined with the Oscar's multiplexer code and Marek's DSMCC/MHP  
carousel (both GPL'd on linuxtv.org) one day a complete playout  
center in software may become true. Assuming that it is possible to  
do the modulation in realtime on normal hardware in not too far future.
